Storm & Insurance Restoration
Experts in Restoration
Storms are a part of our lives. At Big City Construction, we are dedicated to making sure your house is in top shape to prevent issues, and in the case your home is affected, we have the expertise to help repair in the aftermath.

While some damage may be evident, like branches on your roof or shingles on the ground, oftentimes storms leave damage less apparent from the ground. When left untreated, destruction can unfortunately lead to further issues down the road. Our team is highly trained to identify issues, transparently share recommendations as if it were our own home, and repair as needed to give you peace of mind.

Here are some indicators of damage you can look for yourself:

Start by checking the outside of your home. Hailstorms and even common thunderstorms can produce strong gusts of wind that damage your roof. Start by looking for changes from the ground upward. Look for shingles or pieces of metal fascia that may be lying on the ground. Assess the siding to see if there are dents. then, when inspecting the roof, pay close attention to the shingles. During hail or snow storms, some of your roof may appear fine, while other parts were hit hard. Look for dimples or curling, with either the edges turning upward or with the edges laying flat and the middle rising. Also look for bald spots from missing granules. Without the protection from granules, your shingles are more exposed to the elements and can quickly deteriorate, rendering them far less effective.
If you notice any of these, contact Big City Construction. We’re here to help!
Filing An Insurance Claim
Finding out that your roof needs to be replaced or repaired can be troubling for many homeowners. Dealing with insurance claims, talking to adjusters and making sure you get reimbursed for all covered damages is a daunting process. Many homeowners are simply unsure about how to file a claim, where the process can be problematic, what types of documentation they need, or what to expect.

Choose a Contractor with Insurance Expertise

Before you can get work done on your roof that will be covered by insurance, you will need to get an estimate from a professional roofing contractor. In most cases, you can use the roofing company of your choice. Your roofing contractor should be able to help you navigate your way through the roof insurance claims process. Some roofing companies employ Certified Public Adjusters who will deal with your insurance company on your behalf. Look for contractors with extensive experience in providing roof estimates for insurance claims and helping clients navigate the process of getting their roof repair or replacement covered by their insurance company.

The most important thing to remember is that, if you suspect your roof has been damaged, you shouldn’t wait to get it inspected by a roofer. Find out the extent of the damage as soon as possible. This will help expedite the process and also help you avoid further damages that might not be covered under your policy.
